North and South Economy During Civil War
The economy was a cause of the Civil War because the South wanted slavery and the North didn't. The North wanted big cities, assembly lines such as the Cotton Gin and the South wanted farms and plantations. The South wanted states to be able to choose whether they were a slave state or free state, but the North wanted all states above Missouri to be free.
